IMG_1724At the invitation of The Metropolitan of Knossos His Eminence Evgenios, the Diocesan workshop for clerical vestments and ecclesiastical embroidery, RIZA , opened its exhibition in the city of Heraklion on the island of Crete. Following exhibitions in Athens and Thessalonika last month, the exhibition in Crete closed on Friday the 18th of June.

Metropolitan Evgenios invited RIZA to Crete more than two years ago, when he purchased a set of vestments at the first presentation of our work in Athens. His Eminence was impressed to hear of the St. Sava College project and he praised the initiative of His Grace Bishop Irinej in establishing RIZA, as a most appropriate means of generating additional funds for the building fund project.

Metropolitan Evgenios was very gracious in complimenting RIZA on the substantial progress made in the design and execution of our range of vestments saying that he prays for the success of RIZA and St.Sava College. He also was honoured to host the first exhibition of this type in Crete.

With this third exhibition in Greece, RIZA concludes its presentation in Greece for this summer. Given the extreme economic hardship the citizens of Greece are facing in these difficult times, sales could have been stronger, although it is the unbroken presence of our workshop in this part of the world which will guarantee loyalty and continued patronage of RIZA.
