Due to continued increase in demand from members of the Serbian community for aged care, St Simeon Village, which is aligned to the Serbian Orthodox Parish of St Arch. Stephen in Rooty Hill, will extend its current facilities, bringing the number of rooms available from 41 to 51 rooms.
In a letter of 4 January 2011, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Australia and New Zealand expressed his heartfelt prayers and extended the deepest sympathies of his clergy, monastics and faithful to His Grace Coptic Orthodox Bishop Suriel of Melbourne and Affiliated Regions and to Bishop Suriel's faithful flock which, in anticipation of the Nativity of Christ, is now in deep mourning.
One cannot but be humbled by the dedication and service of the many volounteers who give selflessly of their time to the God-given task of building St. Sava College. The building industry in Sydney has been in turmoil over the past several months because of bad weather, but a group of dedicated Serbian carpenters is hopeful that they will soon complete the installation of roof beams and braces enabling the tiling of the College roof.
